They came looking for a business with a website
Four BISCAST students needed a local business to interview. What they found first was our homepage.
Last week, four students walked in looking for something they said was hard to find in Naga: a local business with its own website.
They're from BISCAST, the Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology, taking up Entertainment and Multimedia Computing. Their group had a research task. They needed an actual business to interview about how it shows up online. They told us they had looked around and kept coming up short. Plenty of pages. Very few websites.
Then they found kataidworkstudy.com. So they came to ask about it.
They came with good questions
What is the website for? How does it help the business? Do we have a booking system, and how does it work?
These weren't filler questions. They had clearly clicked around before coming in. That made the conversation easy, and honestly, fun. It's not every day someone asks a work and study space to explain its website.
Why we built it
The short answer: so nobody has to dig to find us.
The longer answer has four parts.
Legitimacy. Anyone can open a page. A website with our own name on it says we're a real business, here for the long run, and willing to put our rates and rules in writing.
Reach. Not everyone looks for places on Facebook. Some people search Google. Some are new to Naga. Some are parents checking where their kid will be studying until closing. The website meets them where they already look.
Ease of access. A lot of people don't want to scroll through months of posts or wait for a chat reply just to learn our hours. They want to look it up and walk in. Now they can.
One source of truth. Rates, spaces, hours, how to book. All in one place, kept current. If it's on the website, it's the answer.
How booking works
They asked, so we showed them. It's three steps.
Booking is for the meeting room. Open seating and private cubicles are walk-in, no booking needed.
Go to kataidworkstudy.com/booking.
Choose your rate, group size and how long you'll stay, then pick your date and time and add any special request.
See your total right there on the page, along with the 50% downpayment that confirms your slot.
That's it. No messaging to ask for rates. No waiting on a reply to find out the price. You know exactly what you're paying before you commit, and the room is ready when you walk in.
Where we're headed
As more of Naga moves online, we want Kataid to move with it.
The goal is simple. Students, reviewees, freelancers and anyone else who works or studies here should be able to plan a visit without needing to message us first. The essentials are already on the website: our rates, spaces, hours, and how to book. Look it up, book, and walk in.
The website was step one. It won't be the last.
Thank you for the visit and the good questions, BSEMC. Good luck on the paper.
As for us, we want Kataid to be a place in Naga you can find in a few taps, plan in a few minutes, and count on when you get here. For everyone doing the long work in this city, we want to be right beside you.
Quiet effort. Steady progress.
